Sri Harmandir Sahib, the Amrit Sarovar, Akal Takht and langar form the essential first cluster. The site is open as a religious institution rather than a conventional monument, so queues, ceremonies, access and photography follow SGPC direction.
Jallianwala Bagh and the Partition Museum in the historic Town Hall lie within a short walk of the shrine approaches. Their subjects overlap but are not interchangeable: one centres the British firing of 13 April 1919, while the other uses objects and oral histories to interpret the Partition of the subcontinent.
Gobindgarh Fort, Durgiana Temple and Ram Bagh with the Maharaja Ranjit Singh Museum form separate city stops. Ram Tirath, Pul Kanjari and the Attari border are outside the core. Current access, transport and security conditions matter more than an old list of opening hours.
