Overview

Changed

Punta della Dogana is a Venice museum of art located in an old building, used for customs, named Dogana del Mar. The 'Punta' represents the tip of a geographical triangle in Venice. The other two points of the triangle are where the Giudecca Canal falls into the Grand Canal and the spectacular Santa Maria della Salute.  The Patriarchal Seminary would be along the triangle's baseline.

Quick Facts

    Visit Responsibly

    Changed

The building's exterior and famous weathervane sculpture are freely visible from the waterfront promenade and from passing vaporetti, so seeing the building itself doesn't require an admission ticket.

    Visiting Information

    Changed

Punta della Dogana sits at the tip of Dorsoduro, where the Grand Canal meets the Giudecca Canal, a short walk from the Salute vaporetto stop.

The museum is typically closed on Tuesdays, and a combined ticket covering the nearby Palazzo Grassi (also part of the Pinault Collection) is usually available.
