Located on the Grand Canal in the Dorsoduro sestiere, Palazzo Rezzonico (also known as Ca' Rezzonico) is an opulent palace that provides a fascinating glimpse into 18th-century Venetian life. It is sumptuously furnished with Baroque and Rococo period pieces, silk wall coverings and Flemish tapestries, together with housing a museum that highlights the importance of luxury goods to the 18th-century Venetian economy.

Ca' Rezzonico contains historic collection objects, decorated interiors and fragile surfaces. Follow the museum's current photography, baggage and distance rules. During restoration, barriers protect both visitors and the collection and should not be crossed.

A visit across Ca' Rezzonico's furnished rooms and galleries generally takes about 90 minutes. The Ca' Rezzonico vaporetto stop is beside the palace, and admission is available separately or through eligible Musei Civici passes.
What is free
The Grand Canal front is free to anyone on the water — from a vaporetto, or from the Ca' Rezzonico landing stage itself — and that facade is the whole architectural argument for the building. The campo and the calle behind it cost nothing either.
Entry is free for Venetian citizens and residents, children under 6, a disabled visitor with a helper, ICOM members, guides on duty and up to two teachers per school group.
The ticket begins at the water-gate hall. The ballroom, the Tiepolo ceilings and the reconstructed pharmacy upstairs are all inside it.
Temporary restoration notice, verified September 2026: extensive work affects the Ballroom. A large structural scaffold is present, and its wall decoration and ceiling fresco are not visible, although circulation through the room and the remainder of the museum route remain open. Check MUVE's official notices before visiting.
When to Visit
Ca' Rezzonico is closed on Tuesdays under its current schedule. From 1 May through 26 September 2026 it has extended hours on Fridays and Saturdays. Both the weekly closure and temporary extensions should be checked on the official MUVE site because schedules can change.
The museum is outside the busiest Piazza San Marco corridor, but crowd levels vary with exhibitions, holidays and events. Choose a time based on the current booking calendar rather than assuming it will be quiet.
