Campo San Stin Site Features

Look up at the buildings around the square for barbacani -- the wooden or stone brackets that let upper floors jut out over the street below, a common Venetian building technique that added living space above while sheltering ground-floor shopfronts from the weather. The 16th-century well at the square's center, with its carved dedication to Santo Stefano and inscription honoring Jacobus Barbaro, is the campo's other notable feature.
