How to Get Around Greenville

A car is essential. There is no meaningful public transport, and the town and the county sites are spread across farmland.

Parking is free on and around the square.

Walking works for the square, Broadway Street and the museum, which are all within a few blocks of each other.

Distances: Dayton is about 45 minutes south-east, Indianapolis around an hour and a half west, Columbus about an hour and three quarters east.

Rural driving: the roads are straight, fast and lined with deep ditches, and there are buggies, tractors and grain trucks on them. Intersections in open country are often uncontrolled and sightlines are deceptive.

Getting here: Dayton has the nearest airport of any size.
