How to Get Around Chungcheongnam-do

Getting in: Incheon airport is about two hours away by bus or rail. The KTX high-speed line stops at Cheonan-Asan, around 35 minutes from Seoul, and Gongju station serves the historic sites.

Rail: the Janghang line runs down the province to the coast, and the KTX puts the north of the province within commuting distance of the capital.

Intercity buses are frequent, cheap and reach every town; they are the practical way to move between Gongju, Buyeo, Boryeong and the coast.

A hire car is worth it for the coast, the islands and Gyeryongsan, where bus connections are thin.

Ferries serve the islands from Daecheon and Taean.

Taxis are cheap and metered, and apps work.
