Treviso Cathedral

Treviso's cathedral, San Pietro Apostolo, stands at the top of Calmaggiore behind a heavy neoclassical portico that gives no hint of its age. Inside are seven domes, an eleventh-century crypt of small columns, and Titian's Annunciation of around 1520 in the Malchiostro Chapel.

This is an active cathedral, not a museum, and the Malchiostro Chapel is a functioning part of it. Quiet inside, no flash, and step back when a service begins.
The Titian is unglazed and in its original position, which is precisely why lighting and photography are restricted -- those restrictions are the reason it can still be seen where it was meant to hang.

Free to enter and open daily, with services taking precedence over visiting. The crypt and the Malchiostro Chapel are part of the ordinary visit, though the chapel is sometimes closed during services.
Modest dress is expected. It is a five-minute walk from Piazza dei Signori straight up Calmaggiore, and around fifteen from the station.
