Summers (June-August) are hot and humid, frequently above thirty degrees, with heavy afternoon thunderstorms. There is no sea breeze this far inland and no relief from altitude.

Winters (December-February) are cold and damp, with hard frosts and the dense fog characteristic of the Po and Venetian plain. Snow falls occasionally and rarely lasts.

Spring and autumn are the best seasons -- mild, green and changeable, with autumn bringing the heaviest rainfall of the year.

Mosquitoes are a real presence from late spring to early autumn, as they are across the whole spring-fed and irrigated plain.
