Rocca dei Tempesta Site Features

The moat

A broad ring of water around the whole enclosure, and the reason the Rocca looks the way it does. Walking the outside of it takes ten minutes and is the best view of the fortress.

The open interior

Grass and trees where the castle buildings stood, now a public park -- and the clearest reading of a medieval defensive plan you will get anywhere nearby.

The towers and keep

Square corner towers and a taller central tower, brick, with the wall-walk line still visible.

Summer events

Concerts and open-air cinema inside the walls from June to September, which is an unusually sensible use for a fortress.
