Lake Como Attractions

The lake’s set pieces are its gardens — Villa Carlotta’s botanical collection, Villa del Balbianello on its wooded promontory, Villa Melzi below Bellagio and Villa Monastero at Varenna. Como itself holds the cathedral, the silk museum and a funicular to a ridge above the city. The rest is walking routes, boats, and one small island with a long history.
