Checked against Wikipedia — Villa Giulia is named after Pope Julius III, who had it built in 1551-1553 on what was then the edge of the city, The architects of Villa Giulia are given as Giacomo Barozzi da Vignola, Bartolomeo Ammannati and Giorgio Vasari, and Michelangelo also worked there, Villa Giulia has a Nymphaeum for alfresco dining during the heat of the summer, and the rear of the building has Vignola's large hemispherical loggia, Bartolomeo Ammannati designed the nymphaeum and garden structures of Villa Giulia, including the great loggia overlooking the first courtyard, with three levels of covered loggias decorated with marble statues and balustrades around a central fountain, while Giorgio Vasari asserted that he was the first to design and create the entire conception and Michelangelo supplied a project for the casino that was not the plan executed, Villa Giulia has a semicircular rear facade contrasting with its rectangular urban front, and Vignola's street front is a severe two-storey facade with a triple rhythm of a fully detailed triumphal arch at its centre (October 2026).
