How to Get Around Dayton

A car is necessary. The attractions are spread across a metropolitan area of some 800,000 people, and the air force museum is a fifteen-minute drive from downtown.

Parking is plentiful and cheap or free almost everywhere, including at the museums.

RTA buses cover the city, including some electric trolleybus routes, which Dayton is one of very few American cities still to operate.

Walking works within downtown and the Oregon District, which adjoin each other.

Cycling: the region has one of the largest paved trail networks in the country, over 550 kilometres, running along the rivers and out to Yellow Springs and Cincinnati.

The airport is small; most visitors fly into Cincinnati or Columbus and drive.
