January and February are cold and often windy. Casino resorts, shows and indoor venues remain active, but the beach and long Boardwalk walks require flexible plans. March and April are changeable, with cool ocean air and lighter visitor pressure before beach season.
May brings more reliable walking weather and the start of guarded-beach operations on selected dates. June is warmer and busier without the full pressure of midsummer. Both suit visitors who want beach time and city exploration.
July and August are the main beach season. Warm water, events and school holidays bring the heaviest recurring pressure, while heat, humidity and thunderstorms can move the day indoors. Reserve event weekends and popular accommodation early.
September offers one of the strongest balances of warm weather and easing crowds. October is cooler but still good for walking. November and December return attention to casinos, concerts, conventions and holiday programming; coastal storms can still disrupt travel.
