Practical Information for visiting Arquà Petrarca

Petrarch's house charges a small admission, generally around six euros, and closes on Mondays with seasonal hours. The tomb and the village are free and always open.

Arquà is about 20 minutes by car from Abano Terme and 40 from Padua. Public transport is limited, so a car is effectively necessary — the one practical drawback of the place.

Cars are kept out of the village core. Park below and walk up; it takes a few minutes on a stepped lane.

Allow an hour and a half for the house, the tomb and both levels.

The village is steep and stepped throughout on uneven stone, and is not accessible; the upper level in particular is a climb. It combines naturally with the Euganean Hills walking routes and with Monselice or Este.
