San Felice Circeo's attractions are a mountain that looks like a person, a set of caves, and a national park.
The promontory itself is the first of them — six kilometres of limestone ridge rising from reclaimed plain, carrying the Vetta di Paola, the Picco di Circe at 541 metres, Punta di Torre Moresca, Punta di Vasca Moresca, Punta del Fortino di Cretarossa, Punta del Semaforo at 412 metres and Punta dell'Acropoli, also called delle Crocette, at 352 metres.
The Grotta Guattari is the archaeological centre of gravity: one of the oldest Neanderthal sites in Italy, where remains of nine Neanderthals were found, and where excavations from 1937 produced a ritually arranged skull, mandibles and infant remains dated to 50,000–60,000 years ago. The Grotta del Fossellone and the Riparo Blanc carry the record on to the Mesolithic.
The old town sits on the eastern flank, ringed by the hills of Peretto, Guardia Orlando and Monticchio to the north and Monte Morrone and San Rocco to the south.
Circeo National Park surrounds all of it, and the Capo Circeo Lighthouse stands three kilometres from the old town.
