Best destinations by month

May and June offer the strongest balance for walking, ravines, patios and an active arts calendar. Spring arrives unevenly, and June's Pride programme creates a major downtown peak.

July and August are warm, humid and event-heavy. Beaches, islands and waterfront spaces are busiest; the Caribbean Carnival and Canadian National Exhibition shift pressure toward their own routes and dates.

September remains mild and brings the Toronto International Film Festival. October is cooler and useful for ravines and autumn colour, with shorter days and more variable rain.

November through March favour museums, food and performance. Snow, wind and freeze–thaw conditions affect walking, though the city remains fully active. April is quieter but changeable. Use the official forecast and event calendar rather than treating any month as uniform.
